Without Clarity You Can’t Realize Your Dreams
“It’s a lack of clarity that creates chaos and frustration. Those emotions are poison to any living goal.” ― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
Do you have lots of excellent ideas? Ideas for a bigger and better business? Maybe you have a bucket full of projects you’ve started but never finished. You have the best of intentions, but get pulled in too many directions to finish anything. It’s likely that you have far too many distractions to concentrate on any one thing for long, and end up frustrated that you can’t move ahead towards your real goals.
What’s Holding You Back?
There is a common cause for this inconsistency. It is lack of clarity. It is not being fully committed to your goal. You don’t have a clear vision of the outcome. Without clarity it is unlikely that you will achieve your goals. If you aren’t making any headway towards your goals, ask yourself very honestly if you have a really clear vision of the goal. Can you see what will happen if you reach your goal? Can you visualize how you will get there? You have to be totally committed to attaining your goal, and to know, without a doubt and with absolute clarity, what the goal is.
There has never been a time in history where we have been bombarded with so many distractions. Even without considering media and the internet, we have an enormous amount of interference. Add those two to the mêlée, and it is a wonder that we get anything done.
How Can You Overcome All The “Noise” Around You?
- By staying focussed on your goal. It’s simpler that you think. All you have to do is write a few things down. First write down what you want to become. Write down everything you want to become or be. There are no limits. Exercise your imagination. Next write down everything you want to do. Think outside the box. And finally, write down what you’d like to possess. That’s the easy one.
- Next write down your goals – large and small. Write down lots of goals. They range could be from, “I want to take better care of my teeth” to “I want to have 2 million dollars in the bank by next year”.
- Now pick a single goal you want to work on. Just one. And put all your efforts into accomplishing it. Get clear on why you want this goal. Write down what it will mean to you if you accomplish it. List the obstacles to reaching the goal and then decide how you will overcome those obstacles.
A Powerful Method
We all have too much to do. We have too much we’d like to accomplish. And this leads very quickly to overwhelm, which leads to paralysis. You have so much you are supposed to do, that you can’t focus on any one thing. By choosing a single goal you can get it done. You’ll accomplish it with greater ease and efficiency. And when you’ve reached that goal, choose the next one. In no time at all you’ll reach each goal. You’ll get a feeling of accomplishment and confidence. You’ll look forward to getting to the next goal, and the next.
